Positive Thinking

Proponents of self help espouse the benefits of positive thinking.  I don’t argue with the benefits of focusing your attention on something positive, and making a positive expression.   However, what I propose is that there is something more valuable.

What about all those moments when our mind wanders and where our attention has strayed?  What are we creating in those moments we are not aware and in control of our conscious expression?   I say that is is far more valuable to become aware and gain control over your attention in every moment of your day.  Eliminate all the negative expressions and unpleasant emotions in those moments of unconsciousness, and you will do far more to change your life.

Positive thinking can certainly help you to create more happiness and beauty in your life.   However it first requires that you have control over your attention, so this is the place you should start.

It’S Not Personal

Sharmen Lane asked:

You’ve probably heard of the book The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz. It’s a great read and I highly recommend it. One of the agreements, and the most difficult in my humble opinion, is Don’t Take Anything Personally. Easier said than done, yes, but possible nonetheless.

Take a look at how often each and every day you take something personally. Someone cuts you off while driving. Does that have anything to do with you? NO! Someone is rude to you on the phone, does that have anything to do with you…NO!

How easy is it to get offended by someone or something these days? If you think about it, we could find lots of things to take personally or take offense to every minute of every day if we wanted to. Recently, I received a phone call from a person who was driving and was cut off by someone else on the road. My friend was so irritated by other driver who had cut him off as if he had done something wrong.

I asked my friend, “Why do you think this person did this to you? His answer was, “I don’t know I guess he was just looking to put me in a bad mood. I chuckled and said, “Do you really think it had anything at all to do with you?” He said “Yes. I’m the person he cut off and then proceeded to flip off as if I was doing something wrong. It had everything to do with me!!!” I said “I understand, but why do you think he chose you to do this too. He said I don’t know, what’s your point? I responded with, I find it interesting that you think because it happened to you that it was about you?

Things are going to happen to us no matter what. The check out lady at the grocery store will be rude, the guy at the newsstand will say something condescending, customer service at the phone company will be short and snappy, the server at a restaurant will roll his eyes when you ask a question about the menu. BUT, if you think about it in the end none of it has anything to do with you.

So ask yourself this question every time you find yourself getting upset or worked up over something someone says or does, “Is this about me?” or “Does this really have anything to do with me?” Chances are the answer is no, so you can put it in a bubble and blow it away. Remember, things other people say and do… It’s not personal.

The Collective ONE!

Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:

Carl Jung’s “collective consciousness” and Rupert Sheldrake’s “synchronicity” have always drawn my interest. The drawing has been from my spirit though and not my intellect, nor my ego (are they different?). My ego doesn’t want to have anything to do with any GROUP concepts. But, we are fast approaching a time when the few, the powerful, will no longer run the world as they have in the past.
I am not at the point where I can agree with those who say we’re leaving the age of Pisces which Jesus ushered in: you know, the FISH!  :-)

And therefore the reasoning or thinking is that we’re entering the time of Aquarius where the WATER (of the Spirit) is being poured out on all of us. If you line up ten people with knowledge of the Zodiac you will et eleven opinions as to when the “Age Of Aquarius” really begins. It may be a fact that is what’s happening. I’m just not clear on that yet.

What I do sense, again without total intellectual clarity, though is that we’re moving from the Hopi 4th Sun to the 5th Sun. As with the Toltecs and Incas, this is a time of fusing of the male and female, into a more joint and cooperative existence. Yes, guys, male chauvinism and patriarchy are toast- make yow own damn breakfast!  :-)

Seriously!

Christine Page in her book, 2012 & The Galactic Center, “Every soul has a unique part of the jigsaw puzzle which, when brought together with all the other parts, will create the fullness of our future. Yet, in order for that to happen, we as a species must learn to value and encourage the contribution of every individual; no one piece is more important than another.”

And we ARE!

We are living in extraordinary times. Let us AWAKEN to the reality of the spirit beings that we are!
